I didn’t lay it all at Trump’s feet. I’ve alway pointed out the ones who came before and that Obama was the worst. My problem with Trump is that he’s carried on with the same thing. You can’t put out a fire by pouring gasoline on it.

I believe it's due to progressive policies started by cousins Teddy & Franklin Roosevelt. The effective throttling of the 10th amendment early in the 20th century changed the balance. Now there’s a line of thought that gives too much deference to federal power. There’s also the split between those who read take an originalist reading of the constitution versus those who wish to interpret or infer a more fluid reading of the constitution. Unfortunately there’s also too much politics involved.

The setting of backfires is a common technique for fighting forest fires.

The constitution is what the Supreme Court says it is. If liberals manage to get a majority the whole meaning of the rule of laws will change.

In that case are you going to live by the letter of the law? Will you turn in your guns if they say you have to?

Laws can be both good and bad. In the 18th and 19th centuries it was legal to own another human being and force him to work for you. In past times and other parts of the world the laws could be pretty harsh. You could get hung or worse for poaching a rabbit on a nobleman's land.

The holocaust was a crime against humanity but the Germans, being sticklers for doing things nice and legal passed laws to make it OK.

Do you think it was legal to dump tea into Boston Harbor? In England it was once a prison offense to be so broke you couldn't pay your debts.

No shit Sherlock. You asked about my beliefs and I answered. Then you tried to shift to what if’s to deflect from my point.
Obviously I have a significant problem with liberal/progressive Democrat principles and positions and have made my thoughts pretty clear. I have and will continue to fight for the things I believe. If it becomes like it was in 1773, I would hope I have the courage of those “Indians” who took part in the Boston tea party. It wasn’t legal but it was needed. Face it the American Revolution was “illegal” only made legal because we won.
The people who wrote the constitution and created our country weren’t perfect and they knew it. They provided means for us to better our society and challenged us to do so. For the most part the United States has risen to the challenge because we were given the principles (18th century liberal thought) and the means (the Constitution) to do so.
We’re being challenged again as I believe neither party and too few of our politicians are as interested in following our founders’ principles. We’re seeing more and more shortcuts taken each one eroding the edifice that served so well for so long. It’s up to us as it was to those “Indians” in 1773 to demand those principles be followed or suffer the consequences.

Winston ...like it or not, Trump has been the biggest monkey wrench thrown into the liberal/progressive/leftist/elitist/ .... dumbass agenda that could be imagined. AND that is why they hate him. He believes in borders, he believes in nationalism, he believes in capitalism, he believes in transparency, he opposes socialist policies, he seeks to appoint constitutionalist judges, he gut taxes (gasp!) and regulation (double gasp!!), and actually believes in the GREATNESS of the United States Experiment.

All of this is incomprehensible to the Leftist Elites who think they are entitled to rule the world through global government, and take offense to anyone questioning their outrage at not being allowed to do as they please, including breaking the very laws they create to “govern” (I call it oppression) the “peasants” they see as their lessors.

well ... and I usually don’t use this kind of language .... but FUCK them, and anyone who doesn’t oppose them. (NOTE .. I said anyone who doesn’t oppose them, so one need not support them to be on the list).
