Not a fair assessment...it bought time which led to an overall victory. Those heroes knew they were all gonna die and stayed anyway. Contrast to the shit show going on in our country today.
It is not celebrated. It is honored and remembered. I guess you laugh at Americans for their remembering Dec 7.
https://www.texasmonthly.com/the-culture/the-alamo-should-never-have-happened/ "But sacrifice is not synonymous with good judgment, and in truth the defense of the Alamo was woefully misguided." Say what you want but it was a considerable military blunder. Celebrating it as an inspiration is one thing....seeing it through a clear lense for what it was....a slaughter....is another.
I don't care what you call it....it was an ass-whipping and a tactical blunder of epic proportions. Terrible comparison. Pearl Harbor was a complete surprise. Travis and his men knew they were being surrounded yet they did nothing. For 13 days they allowed the Mexicans to surround them. It was a military blunder. If they want to celebrate it, honor it or jack it off I don't care. It wouldn't be the first time in history that humans celebrated stupidity.
