No, they didn't have a first round pick due to the magnificant Eli for Phillip deal last year.

J-Load came in at a laughable 336!!!! Lorenzen was told by his coaches (Coughlin included) at the end of last season to get down to the 270's when he was in the 290's. I guess it's easier to eat Krispy Kremes with a baseball cap and clipboard than a helmet and football. Maybe if someone tells him it's called a pigskin, he'd be more motivated.

    That's classic. :hihi:

I saw something that said he wasn't even going to show up at the first minicamp this year because he thought he had been cut.

Remember Jared Lorenzen, the "Hefty Lefty" from Kentucky? The quarterback signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent last spring, but he didn't report to camp after being told by coach Tom Coughlin to show up weighing less than 300 pounds. Lorenzen told people the Giants had cut him, but in fact they retained his rights.

Lorenzen could be used for team conditioning and discipline, i.e., "Okay boys, fair practice, got some things we need to work on so bring your lunch bucket tomorrow. Now, give me 3 laps around Lorenzen here and hit the showers.

You are confusing the heck out of me. And probably everybody else.

First you say no way do the Giants take him with the first pick, when they DID.

Then you say you meant to say the Dolphins, but the dolphins had a first round pick, they used it on Ronnie Brown.\

Then your reasoning for the dolphins not having a 1st round pick was because they traded it away for Eli Manning, which is the reason the GIANTS don't have a first round pick and DID use it on Corey Webster.

My original post should have read:

The Dolphins nabbed Daniels, in part, because they missed out on another former LSU cornerback, Corey Webster, whom Saban was prepared to take in the second round, only to have the New York Giants choose him three slots ahead of the Miami pick.

I hate to keep knocking on Webster, but I don't think there's any way Miami takes Webster with their second pick of the draft. I'm surprised NYG took him with their first pick (in the second round).

And the Eli for Phillip comment was in response to TRAndrew's comment regarding NYG's 1st round selection (which they didn't have due to the trade), not Miami's.
