So, that whole manger thing was a hoax?

It's none of the Government's damn business. It shouldn't be involved at all.

That was a misinterpretation of the original word in the Bible. The correct one is "Old Fouton".

The government shouldn't be involved in governmental affairs? That's a new one.

No. The gov't shouldn't be involved in religous affairs. That's how the Constitution was intended to be interpreted.

Oh. So then we agree on the separation of church and state. Man, you would have saved me a lot of energy if you had just said that from the get-go.

so, because the date we celebrate is inaccurate, it is ok for the government to be closed?
    Really?

regardless of the accuracy of the actual date, Christmas is a CHRISTIAN holiday. A date set by the POPE.

That date has zero historical meaning to the U.S. (like Columbus day, Martin Luther King day, 4th of July, etc. etc.). The sole reason behind it being a holiday is based around religion. If the government absolutely needed a day off every year for some reason, why did they choose one of the Holiest days of the year for CHRISTIANS and not some random day in September or so with nowhere near as much religion involved?

If having some religous symbol located on government property is "endorsing" a religion, then what the hell is taking the day off on a date used to celebrate the birth of man thought to be the son of God?

Sounds like a much stronger endorsement than having some sculpture/painting hanging around.

if y'all don't want them involved, the why are y'all so adamant about outlawing stuff?

government telling someone they CAN'T do something is being every bit as involved as them saying you MUST do something.
