You want me to make my case that the Constitution was based on a belief in the Almighty yet I've read through all of your pontifications and have not seen where you make your's for the opposite. I recommend that you read Mark Levine's Liberty and Tyranny. I, frankly, don't have the time to Google and document everything. It's already been done. You just have to educate yourself.

Well it would be nice to hear you make your case, but I'll just have to let Levine make his, I guess. It may take me a while to get around to it, my "to-be-read" pile is getting tall.

    It's Mark Levin.

It rhymes with "Hannity and Limbaugh's twin.

    Right. Levin.

If you're implying that Levin is another Hannity or Limbaugh and thus not credible, you are way off.

...And he pronounces it "La Veen".

It takes way too much time to document every little assertion, however, I don't make things up.

It's not far off, he got his radio start on Hannity. He's a little less bombastic, but not much.

I'll give him this much, he doesn't cherry pick and twist facts as much as Coulter or Hannity did in their books.

His book is replete with footnotes. EVERY statement is sourced.

I think that's what I just said. Coulter's book is loaded with them also, they're just not accurate.

why do christians have a thing for the ten commandments? do they like lists? is it because its a round number? -the tablets thing? how is that so relevant to christianity? it is just as relevant to judiasm and islam. (actually it easy to argue that its irrelevant to christianity and is only historical. seems to me like john 3:16 or maybe romans 6:23 or matt 7:9-12 are much more relevant.

why should i care what the personal beliefs of the founding fathers were? it is irrelevant to the making of the current laws.

the wonderful thing about the constitution is not that it was written by a bunch of hard-working god-fearing men, but that they included mechanisms in it for amendment.

an the whole prayer in school issue is pathetic--on both sides. it is not a big deal. bitter athiests and uptight christians fuel this. both sides just need to get laid.

No, because December 25th is not Jesus' birthday. It was originally a pagan holiday that was celebrated in Europe prior to Jesus' existence. Pope Julius I declared Dec. 25th as Jesus' birthday to appease the Roman pagans. The truth is, most of us have probably worked on Jesus' actual birthday many times.

supafan, we're just going in circles now. But my point is this...religious groups are constantly trying to have their say-so in our government...whether it be by trying to require creationism to be taught in schools, trying to outlaw contraception, not allowing gay people to marry, or George W. Bush declaring that he was on a mission from god by invading Iraq. I believe that this is the single biggest contributor to the decline of popularity of christianity in America. And in my opinion, for this reason, and due to the fact that our nation is one of such tremendous religious diversity, the government should be given NO latitude in showing favoritism to any religious creed, regardless of how trivial such an endorsement may seem to your or me.
