Couple of thoughts 1. I stayed away from starting a thread because this really got to me, I usually see news stories read them and move on, but I was addicted to this. It bothered me immensely. 2. I had to go to a church meeting Friday night, so this was fresh on my mind. I am in church a lot for one thing or the other. 3. Hate crime without a doubt and it pisses me off that see presidential candidates divert from the racist reasoning of this guy to kill 9 people in a church. They bend over backwards not to attribute this to racism, not all but most of them has done this. 4. The confederate flag flying at full staff after that was a slap in the face, i know it is protected by state law but come on. 5. The unity being shown on tv, from whites, blacks, spanish has been uplifiting. 6. These people were some of the best the black church community had to offer, sad that they are gone. 7. lastly, it really got to me when Roof, said he almost didnt do it because everyone was so nice to him. 8. Forgiveness is real and difficult.
To play Devils advocate on both sides. All the background checks and machine gun regulations wouldn't have stopped this dude. He used a pistol, got it from his dad who didn't have a record. And on the other side firearms ain't gonna do shit if a tyrannical government is coming for us except maybe allow us to kill ourselves before they do.
And his dad is an idiot that should spend some time, a lot of time in jail Will do more than you think
A "tyrannical government coming for us" would depend on the backing of a military willing to do the tyrant's bidding. Don't see that ever happening.
It'll help me off myself and my family. They have robot death machines that fly overhead and kill people.
Eh.... @shane0911 i would have to get your input on this one. If the U.S. Government tried to turn its military on the citizens of the United States, what would the military do?
