Besides, we all know Snoop's an LSU guy- he's got a townhouse in BR, he did the post-game show at House of Blues after the Sugar Bowl last year, and someone I know said he was at last year's LSU/Arkansas game at Tiger Stadium. Just like they're trying to steal Shaq from us, they're taking Snoop Dogg too. ****ers.
didn't OJ really go to one of the USC practices last year or the year be4? i remember reading about in SI, i think
Since I live in LA, I have a little background information for this story. Snoop coaches his son's biddy football team out here, a few times this year he brought the kids to SC to watch the Trojans practice. I could be wrong, but I believe he paid for every kid in the league to attend a pre-football SC camp as well. So he has been close to SC this year. During the Thanksgiving break PC invited Snoop to come down and practice with the team, they showed him dropping some passes and doing football drills. I'm sure if you do a google search you could find plenty of articles from midseason where Snoop was involved with PC bringing kids to watch SC practice . . . the LATimes covered this all season, so I don't think it is odd that Snoop visited the SC locker room. I have nothing against Snoop, even though I'm not a big fan of his style of music. A few weeks ago the LATimes published an article about Snoop and his work with youth sports (he has been doing this for almost 5 years). He donates a ton of money to local playgrounds, buys uniforms for a bunch of different area sports leagues, conducts youth football camps inviting pro players and coaches, and paid all travel costs for a local traveling biddy football team. Snoop is an entertainer, and it's his job to sell an image . . . even if we may not like it. None of us are forced to buy into his act, none of us are forced to support him. I do think it is positive that he has invested so much money and time into youth sports. In an age where kids rather sit in front of a computer than play outside, at least he is using his negative image and influence over kids into something positive. I do hate SC, probably more than many fans here, but I have no problem with this. We didn't mind last year when Snoop was walking around in an old Shaq LSU jersey and plenty of fans here just had to know where to download that Sugar Bowl BCS song by Snoop where he mentioned LSU. It's too easy to hate SC, I don't need to involve Snoop to get me upset. Personally I'm just tired of hearing all this back to back crap, that bothers me more than anything.
HMMMM... try again. Snoop mentions how his team wasn't in the game during his halftime performance for the Sugar Bowl last year. He's from southern california and SC is his team. LSU is probably high on his list though. If memory serves me correct, Manny Fresh may be the only rapper who has LSU as "his" school even though there are several other rappers from Louisiana.
Okay, so you like his music but you don't like him as a person. Of course it's the people that buy his CD's that make him popular. That's why he's able to get into the locker room and that's how he's able to influence kids.
I listened to some of Snoops music a few years back but since then I choose to go more with the Beatles and Eagles.
He should still be in jail for the murder he was a part of. I don't see how doing a drive by shooting 15 minutes after a guy pulled a gun on you can be self defense, but hey, it is California.
Snoop is definitely an SC guy. I went to a charity all-star game in Houston last year (leading up to the Super Bowl) that was organized by Ricky Williams' Foundation. Snoop's West Coast all stars played Ricky's Texas All Stars. Snoop's team was in all-USC gear. Quite an eyesore, but it was fun watching the kids have a good time. They had one stud at QB that just annihilated the defense everytime he touched the ball. Uh oh, if I talk much more like this, I'm going to feel like one of those losers that scout middle school kids!!!
