I have a new theory on how the season is going to end. The last episode is called the "End of the Line".

I think Tony will step down as the head of the family and Silvio might take over. Tony will leave while he is ahead, no RICO, not clipped, and try to help AJ realize everything he has gone through and salvage his marriage. The episode with Silvio taking over while Tony was in a Coma left a dead end. I think not killing Paulie will come back to bite him and Tony will handle it. I have a feeling Phil will be taken out and the reason it will be accepted is because Phil did the same to become head of the family again.

I think the final scene will be an empty pool with a family of ducks.

    Just a theory.

No, you can never leave this Thing of theirs. Tony will eliminate his competition in New York, give the Feds their security help, gets his family in line, makes great earnings, and wins on all fronts . . . except Carmela leaves him and joins Furio in Italy. AJ gets whacked, of course.

Tony settles all his debts and ends by sitting on a dock watching the lake.

This character is going to return . . . maybe in the movies.

I dont expect him to leave the mafia, I have a theory he will step down from being the boss like Phil did for a short stint. I have also heard more rumors of a movie on the way after the season. When Tony was in bed talking with the Vegas girl they hinted that his saddness comes from having all the responsibilty. Just a theory, some on Sopranos message boards have similar theories and hints about what is going to come from the National Enquirer.

We are finally after all these years of watching Tony operate seeing what he truly is... a liar, a thief, and a murderer. This season has been quite dark. Christopher dug his own grave after the release of Cleaver. The way he portrayed Tony was the nail in the coffin. Tony saw a weak, vulnerable junkie in Christopher regardless of how close they were. Christopher was hopped up on coke, Tony could tell he was not right during the entire drive. Christopher was one posession charge away from being flipped (if he wasn't already) and with the info he had he could bury Tony. Tony saw his chance to alleviate his biggest risk AND make it NOT look like a hit. He did not put Christoper out of his misery. Tony with clear mind made a calculated decision to off his greatest threat without raising suspicion from either of his families or the Feds. BRILLIANT STRATEGIC MOVE. The Cleaver hats raise a red flag...interesting theory to think that they may be wired. We saw Tony toss out the Cleaver mug, maybe he should toss out the Cleaver hats too!! Ironic perhaps that the dumping of the asbestos is going to poison and pollute Tony's beloved ducks we heard quacking as the asbestos went into the water. Funny, the ducks represent his family and his fear of losing them. But, so far, Tony himself has killed people he regarded as family(Pussy, Tony B, Christopher, tried to suffocate his mother). Now, Tony is killing his beloved ducks too. Maybe we are being shown that Tony himself will be his own undoing and he will be solely responsible through his own actions for losing the things he cares for the most. I think Tony makes it through the entire series free and clear, but who will or will not make it that's close to him is the question.

    Wow, great post SJS!

Awesome episode, I can't wait for the rest! We were all sitting around before it started with our little theories. 90% were shot to chit after it sunk in that Christopher was actually dead.

"Oh chit" moment was an understatement in that room.

I dont think it was a question if Chrissy was going to be murdered, it was when. The writers have been setting his death up since the beginning. I was really impressed with the way the show killed him off, I was not dissappointed. I can survive 3 more episodes with him gone but he will still be involved in way way or the other. However, if the rumors are true and a movie does come out I will be a little dissappointed he is not in it. At least he will still be a writer on the show, he has been writing since season 2.

I still believe that David Chase is not going to wrap the Sopranos up in a nice little tight bow that ties up all the loose ends and leaves NOTHING to speculation. Real life is not that way, and Chase has always strived to make this as true to life as possible. I would be disappointed if the last episode was an exercise in futility which scattered all around and bounced from storyline to storyline trying to make everything fit. I feel we will never know what happened to the Russian from Pine Barrens, and we will never know what happened to Hesh's girl...etc. I still say this season ends with so many questions. If so, the Sopranos will live on forever. People will speculate and speculate forever about the direction of the families...and open up the door for future Soprano spin offs and perhaps that feature film everyone is longing for.

I was cheering out loud when AJ was trying to kill himself. That's how bad I dislike that character. It's pretty clear Tony and Phil are going to go to battle and Tony will lose to wrap up this series.

I think A.J. is finally out of the story now, safely locked away in the looney ward. Kind of like his Uncle Junior.

I ain't so sure. Nobody likes Phil. Who is going to back him? Not Little Carmine, not any more. Not Johnny Sac, he's dead. Even Phil's own men know that he's letting personal things get in the way of business. if Little Carmine backs Tony and gets involved, he can pull a lot of Phil's men away. They were all Big Carmine's men a year ago.

I was cracking up laughing when Tony walked outside with the sandwich and he said AJ what the hell are you doing. Then he throws the sandwich down and jumps in.:hihi:

Nice to see Tony fallow through and curbcheck that guy who talked about adding creme to Meadow's lips. The old Tony is back and taking numbers. I dont think Tony will lose to Phil. Phil is a coward for screaming at Carmine and Tony from the screened window. I am not reaolly sure what is going to happen with this but I do know I have to wait 2 weeks to find out in the next episode.:cuss: I hate when they do that for every new season.
