This whole BCS thing was set up to get the BEST 2 teams at the end of the year not the teams that did not lose the latest. OU is sooooooo much better then USC its not even close. USC was in front of LSU all year only because they lost first and started out higher in the preseason. If LSU beats OU they beat the BEST TEAM in the country Period. With that said OU should have won the Conference but USC does not play a Conference so you cant even call that on them.
My take is that all the while we were closing the gap on USC they threw up the BCS strength of schedule to dismiss and ridicule any conversation that LSU might be fit to be mentioned in the same breath as USC. Now that the table turned and their own smack has come back to bite them on their fine asses the Wailing and Gnashing of Teeth has been beyond belief. Add to that 10,000 sportswriters/casters desperate to find something original to write about latching on to this "controversy" and the Howl has approached what the demos put up over Florida's hanging chads. It is a drag that Ok slipped up, but I dont have any doubt that the best 2 teams in the country will play January 4. I wish Georgia would get a shot at USC personally, they have a fine team and would handle that bunch just fine. I just have my fingers crossed that I will find out I have my tickets Friday, so I can be in the Superdome to see the game. Everyone knows Okie has a great team, but you still have a lot of folks talking about LSU that have never seen them play. You will find out Jan 4 that the Tigers are a complete team, solid all the way around, with stunning team speed. It should be a dandy game.
amen to that soonerbrat. It is amazing even some LSU fans are hopping on this USC media bandwagon, when we would have been taking shit like nobody's business had OU won.
I really think Michigan will hand USC their loss in a little brown paper bag. Therefore, the OU/LSU game will actually mean something. This game will definately be for the Indisputed National Championship. If we would be playing USC, they'd lose. They're playing Michigan so they're still going to lose. OU is a much better team. I'm glad we're playing them.
I think they are both overrated and I have no idea which is better Mich let a no offense in Ohio St score 21 and USC has not played anybody with defense other then Auburn and they had no offense.
