I am talking only about the replay official. If you look at where the ball crossed the plane using both angles available, it is an "indisputable" TD. It should have been overturned. If you look at both angles, it is clear where his knee is when the ball crosses (off the turf). My question is again, how can the replay official not put the two angles together? Is he limited in the number of angles he can view, or is it just beyond his capability to judge it. If that is the case, there is no reason for replay. When the ball went over the plane of the goal line, there is absolutely no way Kragthorpe's knee was on the turf...NO WAY. The replay officials and the announcers just seem like absolute morons to me that they can't discern this. It leaves one wondering about things like bias and incompetence. The bias would be more pro ND than anti-LSU. Was that it? I don't know, but stupidity is the other best reason.

You're outraged because it's LSU. As I said it happens all the time and simply expected to some degree.

But the fact they had to guess to some extent to determine anything means it's not indisputable by definition. And they aren't allowed to think. It's an automatic no.overtturn in that situation . Despite the obvious that it was a touchdown.

    Blame the rule.not the refs.

On the disputed touchdown, I only blame the officials for missing the call. They may have been surprised by Les on the fake and they clearly did not make the correct call. Yes, it could have turned the game but we will never know. But I understand the rules the replay officials must function under so I do not blame them for not overturning the call.

I do have major issues with the refs during the entire game on where the ball was spotted. Thru the miracle of DVR's and slow motion, you can go back and double check a play pretty well. I am not saying you can get an exact spot to the inch but you can get pretty close in many cases. I felt the refs (who clearly did not have my advantages but were on the field) consistently gave ND favorable spots. There was one situation where I nearly spilled my Sculpin where the ND player's head was behind the spot the ref gave him. And no, it was not a forward progress situation where the player was pushed back. And yes, it was a third down conversion.

Not going to change anything I know but I had to vent and echo some of the OP's points.

The speed and finesse of the game, college and pro, has surpassed the skill and expertise of those officiating. Players are quicker, faster and much better athletes than the officials.

The only answer is to kick enough ass so a bad call or three, can be mitigated. That is the only recourse.

Sort of. When given the chance the zebras still need to get it right. See Pat Pete, See the Oregon/OU debacle, this most recent one for us. The list goes on.

That's like telling your wife your pecker got cut off but expecting her to get hot because you brought a dildo in the bedroom. Well, IT WORKS!
