Rondo is a freshman, but Sparks is their starting PG and he is a junior transfer from Western Kentucky. IMHO it should have been Sparks out there at the end of the 1st OT.

You're wrong Andrew. Sparks was the poing guard early in the year. Then they inserted Rondo as point guard and made Sparks shooting guard.

Arizona's last second pathetic shot to end the regulation was the worst shot selection I had seen in many years.

I think it has something to do with those other 5 guys on the court who don't want them to make that last shot.

Aside from his miracle 3 pointer to send the game to it's first OT, Sparks and the rest of his teammates did just about everything possible to lose that game down the stretch: missed crucial FTs, unforced turnovers, pathetic clock management.

Oh wait..I coulda saved myself some time of having to type the last part of that sentence by just copying a post-game writeup of LSU's performance vs. UAB and pasting it here.

I understand they have 5 guys on the other team to combat, I just think the idea of holding onto the ball, not running any kind of offense, and then at the very last second trying to desperately take a shot is, in a word, ludicrous.
