1. I agree, even though it goes against my "agenda".

  3. ok, here's another comparison (one that doesn't involve our ex-coach)

    2 different coaches.
takes a perennial top5 team, defending conference champ, who lost their expected starting QB forcing them to start freshmen, and defensive coordinator.

    one goes 8-5
4 of those losses to top 15 teams
    average margin of defeat 13.8pts
biggest loss 30 pts on rd

    other goes 9-4
no losses to top 15 teams
average margin of defeat 17 pts
biggest loss 3.4 pts at home

    pretty similar right?
Les Miles is incompetent and needs to be fired for for 8-5 above
Pete Carroll gets a pass for his season, because he had to start a freshman QB, and replace his defensive staff.

Miles did his in a conference that most people here will argue is head and shoulders above the one Pete Carroll faced.
Miles' worst loss came on the road to the eventual National Champ.
Petey's was at home against a team that finished the season unranked.

  4. Saban Who ??? Saban will be gone from Bama in 2 years
  5. Yeah, but Les had all that talen........er........wait.

Great post, Nootch! Fact filled and indisputable.
  6. I can't get anything past you. :rolleye33:

If this would say, "It is risky starting over with a new coach", then this would be an agreeable statement. However, luvdimtigers said it was in no way a good thing. It may be risky to hire a new coach, but to say it would be bad no matter the situation is false. Therefore, I left it off. Your move.
  7. That makes absolutely no sense. Apples and Oranges. There is no way to compare Miles/LSU and Petey/USC tough seasons. I mean Miles and Petey have different color hair and LSU and USC are in different states.

Great post Nootch, stop making sense.
  8. Even though I agree it is best for LSU that Les Miles prove doubters wrong, I still have an agenda? Just because I don't agree that there is no way starting over with a new coach could be a good thing doesn't mean I wish Miles fails to prove me right.

  9. Barring a complete implosion by LSU (a losing record) it would be a bad thing to change coaches right now, IMO.

Huge reason, and I'll ask again, based on what we have seen Miles accomplish, and barring a complete meltdown, Who's out there, that's a possible hire, is a definite improvement.

The biggest thing that the Miles haters always say is "he won with Saban's players" even if that's true, he's recruited players comparable.

No matter who brought them here, to think that Saban's influence is what made the 2005, 06, 07 team good is to completely ignore what it takes to prepare and coach a team every year.

The Miles haters never address this: With the right set of players, assistant coaches, and luck, Miles can win championships, he's already done it.
  10. Coach Miles in 07 against a very good Auburn team with 17 seconds on the clock called to throw a pass into the endzone. If you hit it great if not you kick the FG!

Standard play calling but haters use it against CLM since our QB ran 8 seconds at the LS before he called snap. The broadcast crew started it and it was the mad-hater being a little crazy.

If Nick or Pete does it , it's a great coach taking the game away from a FG kicker.

The way people see the end of the Auburn game is a tell on how people see CLM.
