Bingo. I haven't lived in Louisiana since 1998, so technically speaking, I don't have a dog in this fight. My familiy is all around BR, and they are all ok. I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, and what efforts are being made. Like 99% of the people in this country, all I can go by is what I see. I don't think you can blame anyone on the preparedness issue. This event is truly unprecedented in modern times and no one could have anticipated the scope of destruction. That being said, in times like this, people look to their elected officials for guidance and action. The way they portray themselves is very important, IMO. I would give mayor Nagin an "A", and Gov. Balnco a "D". Nagin may be full of sh*t, but at least he comes across as determined, and maybe even a little angry. Blanco looks like a wet noodle, and I have no confidence in her to deal with this disaster. For all I know, she is not making any decisions, they are being made for her, but we are not privy to that information. For an elected official, appreance does count, and she is not doing very well in that regard. Just my opinion. Call me full of sh*t if you want.
