    TODAY’S QUOTE
“The best fame is a writer's fame. It's enough to get a table at a good restaurant, but not enough to get you interrupted when you eat.”

DID YOU KNOW? - Food Trivia

No one is sure exactly where and when the Monte Cristo Sandwich was created, or who created it. The Monte Cristo is a sandwich with ham and chicken (sometimes turkey) and cheese, usually Swiss cheese, dipped in beaten egg and grilled with butter until golden brown.
All of the earliest mentions of the Monte Cristo on menus are from southern California in the early 1940s.

and in honor of today being shrimp scampi day......

    Shrimp Scampi

    1 1/2 pounds large shrimp (about 16 >>monster shrimps :D )
    1/3 cup clarified butter
    4 tablespoons minced garlic
    6 green onions, thinly sliced
    1/4 cup dry white wine
2 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh if possible
    8 sprigs parsley, finely chopped
    salt and pepper, to taste

Rinse shrimp and set aside. Heat butter in large skillet over medium heat. Cook garlic 1 or 2 minutes or until softened but not browned. Add shrimp, green onions, wine and lemon juice; cook until shrimp are pink and firm, about 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Do not overcook. Add chopped parsley and salt and pepper before serving. Garnish with lemon slices and parsley sprigs if desired.

    Makes 8 first-course servings (not for me....maybe 4 servings. i mean 2 shrimp per person....no way. )

Reminds me of a joke. They was this guy who joined the foreign legion and was stationed in the desert. After a few weeks of not having seen a woman he was going crazy. He asked the captain what the other men did in that situation and the captain pointed to a camel tied up behind a tent. The guy was desparate but he found the idea of sex with a camel disgusting. After a few more weeks he broke down one night and starting humping the camel. When he was finished he saw that the captain was staring at him in disgust. The guy said "Why are you looking at me like that. You told me the camel was there for the men." The captain said that the camel was there for the men to use to ride into town to visit the whorehouse.

that one shook off some cobwebs. there were two bulls sittin' on top of a hill looking down at a herd of cows. the young bull says to the old bull "lets run down there and hump us each one of those cows." the old bull looks at him and says "let's walk down and hump 'em all."
