A big deal around here, "Oregon is being advertised as the best place in terms of weather and chance for clear skies compared to the rest of the United States,",.. hotels are all sold out,.. though technically illegal, the motel/hotel industry has thrown out old reservations and are now charging triple, a government official said, "what are we supposed to do, prosecute them all?" People coming in from all over the world to see it, my Sister and brother in law are taking the day off from work. A solar eclipse is kinda cool, but if you ask me, that's a lotta fuss over a five minute event.
Gonna watch it in my back yard don't know how much I'll see in Texas. Would not be traveling to see it
same here, supposed to be 99.7% here in Asheville. pulling the RV about an hour south on Lake Keowee so we can see it exactly on the totality line. same here @GiantDuckFan all the hotels are booked and they are even closing businesses for the day because of all the traffic they expect. should be fun. we got our eclipse glasses this past weekend.

If we can all hang around until the year 2078, we will get a total eclipse directly across southeast LA that year.
