    what does this have to do with ss? who gets a check for being born? if you dont contribute for something like 12 quarters you dont get ss.

    The problem is that family and church doesn't take care of all of them. And they won't just sit there and starve. They start stealing from you and from me to get by. They become a permanent criminal underclass and then we fill our prisons with them where it costs us about five times as much to house them as giving them a free clinic to go to and food stamps.

    No, fool. SSI is Supplemental Security Income, a program for the poor and disabled which is administered by the Social Security Administration. Ostensibly it is funded from tax revenues, though not Social Security taxes, but who knows where the money is funneled from.

    Im about as liberal as they come, but i agree with Salty.

    Question for the Right:

    Would you still be extremely against this healthcare bill if there was something in it, that required immediate vasectomy or hysterectomy for anyone who was receiving welfare or govt. assistance, that was still able to reproduce?
