So who will be the new punt return specialist? Nobody expected this development. Is anyone ready to step into the role at this late date? a defensive back? Beckham? Shepard?

I'd prob have to put it on OBJ just from that shiftiness perspective.

I think probably Odell Beckham and here is a dark, dark horse. There has been some questions about Jarrett Fobbs hands (much like Shepard's hands), BUT I saw several returns by Fobbs his SR year in HS on admittedly "highlight" video. IF Fobbs can catch punts AND they don't want to risk Beckham being hurt on a punt return, put a guy like Fobbs back there.

Hate to risk a starting wideout to that punishment . . . and can he play DB on a fake punt?

I have never liked putting a starter as either a kickoff or punt returner because of the injury issue. But can't argue with the success of Peterson and Mathieu. I will say that kickoffs will be problematical this year since with the 5 yards moving up of the tee, good luck on returning kickoffs this season.

So I am confused you risk getting TM7 hurt but not your best WR's.
