    Ah, a resident Bama fan couldn't get past the first few replies to this thread w/o pulling the (very old) past history card.

    I guess if I'd had my ass handed to me by the two best teams in my division to the tune of 2-10 since 2001, I'd go back to the 60s and 70s as well to buck up my spirits.

    I was referring to the fact that one had to get through Alabama to represent the West in the SECCG in most games in the 90s.

    Though I was unaware of UF's permanent status on LSU's schedule, so I would assume both teams stood in LSU's way.

    And the Yankees have to get through Tampa Bay to represent the AL East, but it's not usually too big an obstacle.

    I will say that I want LSU to paste Bama's butt this year more than in years past. That game holds special significance to me and other LSU fans. And I could care less how Bama feels about LSU.
