Surely you don't think he was worried about being paid. Heck we will be paying the last guy for the next 4 years NOT to coach. One thing we WILL do is honor a contract. Hey were glad to have him how ever long he decides to stay. So far he's already paying dividends with what has been accomplished in 1 month. 15 of the 24 recruits Saban recruited. Pulling in the 10th. rank class is a miracle.I know that doesn't compare to this years LSU class but its a start. Look a spurrior"s recruiting from his first year to the second. Next year bama's looking at a top 5 class.

You'll be doing the same for Saban, except one difference. Since the money is garaunteed, Bama wll be paying him even if HE decides not to caoch.

In all honesty, I don't see Tricky Nicky leaving soon cause that would finish what's left of his credibility. Many didn't think he'd leave Miami either but I was one who said $$ wouldn't stop him if he wasn't happy- little did I know the money wasn't going to be an issue with the deal coming down.

He signed a contract with no buy out clause. If we decided to fire him he still gets paid. If he decides to leave tomorrow to go somewhere else, or not to coach,he doesn't get paid. check it out.

I'm not going to be one who says he won't leave. I wouldn't be shocked if after a few years of not accomplishing what the Gumps are all but garaunteeing, he may decide to go. The pressure this man has nowput upon himself is emmense. If he can't bury the bear, Bama fans will hate him and that relationship will sour quickly. They loved Shula up until 3/4 of the waay through '05, then look what happened. Saban isn't one to take the verbal/media abuse that will be handed to him if he isn't wildly successful.

OK, I'll take your word for it. I was just going by what a guy on ESPN said the day he signed. I don't pretend to be educated in the ways the Gumps do business.

If his heart is in college football like he says, where is ho going to go without taking a major pay cut. You think he doesn't enjoy being the highest paid college football coach in the country? He does have a very big ego, where else can he go?

and he has proven to be a man of his words?

Do you honestly think Bama is the only school in the country that has money? Look around gump, coaches salaries are rising across the country. Before long, y'all savior will no longer be on the top of that list.
