Cole Tracy, right out the gate ties the LSU FG record on a 54 yarder. Yunno, the one that hit the crossbar and fell in? Right Avery Atkins had 6 consecutive touchbacks against the Canes. 6 It's only one game, but... The Tigers have improved in nearly every statistical category of special teams. Field goal percentage (100 percent in 2018; 59.3 percent in 2017) Average punt distance (40.6 yards in 2018; 40.25 in 2017) Touchback percentage on kickoffs (75 percent in 2018; 45.83 percent in 2017) More please https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_7e395238-b140-11e8-bcd5-e7f017359f31.html
My only disappointment is that he's only here for a yr. Just a tidbit: Is the only player in NCAA Division II history to kick six field goals in a game twice ...
Hey, it's a year for the boot. Granted, it's only a year, but credit Greg McMahon for going out and bringing in a quick fix. Folks grumbled when he was a Saint and got the gig, but he fired all his rounds and brought in the hot hand. That is a pretty quick evaluation of talent and I expect, he will find others. I'm sure the pool to choose from is significantly higher for college than the pros, so I'm just gonna take the time with this coach and see if he can bring that glory with ST's back to LSU. You see all the jack we got covering punts? Devin White was on the line, just saying. We have an embarrassment of riches, and they can shine on ST's as well. It's a long season and it is only 1 game, but I imagine we have a kicker more prone to winning us a game rather than losing it. If the game is riding on a 45 yarder, I feel a hell of a lot better about it now, a year removed from awe shit.
