His dream of a reconstituted greater Russia is no different than a Texans' dream to secede from the US. This is less about recreating the USSR and more about protecting interests in Crimea. He has a couple decades of military technology to develop before he can even start sniffing the dream of rebuilding the USSR.

The difference is that those in Texas don't hold any power to act on their fantasies... Putin does.

Whether he has the tools to actually accomplish this dream is secondary as he has the power and apparently the will to try. BTW MLU he has already started...Ossetia in 2008....Crimea now...Eastern Ukraine tomorrow?

That adds up to his being a very dangerous man and this a very dangerous time.

When they throw out baloney like this, it indicates something else. An inferiority complex. Obviously the US has the capability to do the same to Russia and no one is going to nuclear war over this. Nuclear saber-rattling is so inappropriate that one suspects this "journalist" is off script. He is the same kook who maintains the organs of homosexuals should not be used in transplants in Russia.

But we can use talk like this to justify putting the missile interceptors back in Eastern Europe.

I have a friend that is in the Ukraine. Things are bad enough with the revolting that is going on, and now Putin. We keep begging him to come home, but he has met a girl there that he wants to marry and won't leave her. Scares the shit out of me (for him). His pictures he is taking basically right out of his front door are disturbing and sad.

Nope. No difference. There are National Guard posts and plenty of arms in Texas to revolt. It's a silly idea, though just like Putin attempting to reconstitute the old Soviet Union.
I guess one could argue that he's taken step 1 out of about 200 steps. It's taken him how many years to advance this nefarious agenda? At this rate, he's going to have to live to be 200 years old.

What exactly is dangerous about these times as compared to any other time? Stop being to afraid of everything, white man.

And that's what i mean, it's extremely inappropriate for a government backed news affiliate to speak about turning any country to radioactive ash. I mean what does he think we have in our arsenal, some pop guns?

This dude should be removed from his job immediately.
