Fullmer just got worried and thought he would run out of time. he and his OC panic-ed. Qwik throw the ball ERic we're looooosssingggggg. :hihi:
I guess it would have been better for us if UT had won, and I can't stand UF and Meyer, but damn, it sure was nice to see Fulmer and Posse get worked. And you're right, they did panic and think they needed quicker scores....with 15 minutes to play...and a defense that had been on the field a good bit. haven't checked the time of possession, but it seems like UF had the ball a helluva lot in the second half.
I see salty is already counting this as a W for us, and no doubt I like our chances. Only thing is: ( miles is prolly seeing this, no doubt they watched it ) 1. they are physical 2. They beat themselves, because they should have handled the gators. Their line was bigger...etc.. 3. they got to Leak a few times. 4. they like to run to their strong side, with some success, which should be a good match up with us. We need to dominate their O line from the git go. Our defense is much bigger and faster than Uof F especially There! 5. U of F got to Ainge a couple of times...inspiration for Coach P and Coach Miles. IF they use it.
I don't think it matters who won as far as LSU is concerned. We're not going to drop down, and we have to beat them both anyway. It may actually be better in the long run. With UF winning tonight UT will drop, but not all that far. I would not be surprised if they're still in the 10-12 range. Maybe not, but #4 beat in a tight game by #7 shouldn't drop them that far. So they should still be ranked pretty decent when we beat them next week. This will bump up UF though, so they should definitely be a top 5 when we beat them. Either way is fine with me. But poor, poor baby Clausen, not getting to play but a couple of drives. Florida definitely worries me more than UT, but UT can't be ignored. They still have some good talent and size, and I think they have the potential to play a lot better than they did tonight.
I guess I'll have to think about it more, but it just seems like UF overall is undersized. Just an initial impression, on both sides of the ball. Have they not been recruiting good ole collard green and jambalaya fed players or what?
I think it may actually be the other way around for that game. Their run D is TOUGH. We should pass to set up the run, methinks
