Florida's very beatable, but they get the big home field advantage. If it's a home game I give us a slight edge. We should be able to put up points on Arky's defense, but if not it's gonna be a very long day dealing with Mallett. Arkansas is always a concern since the team always seems deflated after getting banged up and beaten in close games with Bama. Speaking of the devil, their two-headed rushing monster is tailor-made to grind down defenses, and McElroy is just good enough as a passer to keep us honest, and I have no idea where the points will come from.
And we have to beat both of those teams this year with much less offense than we've had in ANY of those other years. 2007? 2008? One minute away from 2009? Any of that ring a bell?
Good explanation JayB, but it falls on deaf ears. To the pumpers, we have no reason to be frustrated. Good D, 4-0, NC winning coach = nothing to be worried about. But these people said the same things in '08. And in '09.
Yep like I keep saying we are limping along on talent alone right now. Unfortunately I think we can only go so long bending and not breaking.
Les said JJ would get better for the 18th time I am just not sure that JJ will get better lets say that Les and I are not on the same page about JJ
With the big games looming, is it realistic to think that our D can hold the likes of Florida, Auburn, Bama, and Arky to say, less than 20 points? If so, can our offense do just enough where we can win by scores of 17-14, 21-17, and the like? I ask these questions rhetorically. Our D is lights out; however, I can see ourselves on the short end of the stick even if the D allows less than 20 in any of those games... :geauxtige
Not only does the D need to stop the other team, you need the D and ST to score 7-14 points and keep getting the ball within FG range. Chances of success gets smaller and smaller. Can happen, just less likely. LSU needs to take long-term changes to the team and not worry about the short-term effects. imho
Les Miles - Great Job hiring Coach Chavis, Billy G, Frank Wilson. Awesome recruiter, good man, pillar of the community, and great representative of LSU. Defense lights out, Specials Teams best in the country. That was the good. Les Miles - Stubborn, bull headed, and arrogant. Arrogant? Yes arrogant. Why you may ask? Because he thinks everyone that is not on LSU's staff, is an idiot. Do i think Miles is stupid, or an idiot? No I don't, but I think he thinks everyone else is. Apparently we don't know enough to know that the option does not work, we don't know enough to know that Jordan Jefferson is pathetic right now and needs to be benched. Sure the fans aren't the coaches, we don't make the decisions. But don't get pissed off when the fans don't support your offensive philosophy. Don't question our loyalty or try to call us out, when it's you that needs to be called out for your poor decision making. I don't want Miles gone, I think he has done great things here, and I will be the first to say that. I am greatful we have a guy like him here, but please, don't insult me by saying things like, "we haven't seen anything to lead us to believe the option isn't working". Ninja Please. We are 4-0, and I remember a time when we had just as poor quarterback play and were around 1-3. We win games. Games we should win, and that is great. But i'm not going to get a raise for doing what I am supposed to do. I will get a raise for going above and beyond. Our quarterback and offensive philosophy is what is keeping this team from going above and beyond.
