"The Islamic State’s black flag flew Monday near one of the gateways to the strategic Syrian town of Kobane, suggesting that the militants have broken through more defensive lines after weeks of intense fighting within sight of the Turkish border.
Capturing Kobane would give the Islamic State control over a longer stretch of the Turkish-Syrian border and open potential new smuggling lines for fighters and supplies.....Kobane’s fall also would highlight the limitations of U.S.-led airstrikes to blunt ground offensives by well-armed Islamic State units. In Iraq, the group’s fighters have gained ground against the military and allied militiamen despite facing intensified air attacks."

Yea, they sure are weakening....no progress there. o_O

    Watch and learn.

Turkey has now voted to join the coalition and NATO itself has stated that they will support Turkey. Major players are lining up on our side including the key local player, Turkey. Turkey has a serious, NATO-equipped military. Their generals are already saying that ground forces are possible. Supply routes into Syria that were open recently are now closed. ISIS is now ringed by coalition members.

ISIS is doing what it can, while it can. They are trying to appear more menacing by continuing the beheading and atrocities and also by staging a high-profile fight on the Turkish border for the media that won't go into Syria anymore. They think the West will be fearful and withdraw or come in and engage in a guerrilla war with them again and on their terms and turf. Make no mistake, the airpower is hurting ISIS and so will the squeeze on their shabby logistics given time. They are beating their chests and hoping to frighten us. It's ISIS propaganda, don't buy it.

Thats the point. Contract the job to them and give whatever they want in air support, equipment and advanced weaponry. Share our intel although I suspect that they could develop sources better than our own. They would have the freedom to conduct the operation in ways that our armed forces wouldn't be allowed to do. If there is collateral damage so be it.
