    On the Syrian side of the border where they say up to 2/3 of ISIS is at, what happens when we damage, kill and displace enough of these guys? If we don't have these so called moderate rebels trained and in place in a certain amount of time, it's almost impossible to think another void won't be created and then filled by the next group of delusional camel humpers. This could become a never ending endeavor.

    It could if we try to do it the same way we have done before. Invasion and occupation doesn't really work well against guerrillas. It worked against Saddam's army and we took Baghdad in 21 days. But when it devolved into a guerilla insurgency, it became an endless game of Whack-A-Mole.

    Hopefully this time, it will be a smarter game. We have to strangle them from their supplies and munitions, cripple their ability to export any oil, hammer any units that try to operate in a military fashion, and deny them any ease in getting new recruits. This will require cooperation from the Arabs, which we are getting. They do no want to be next. It will require cooperation from the goddamned Turks, which may be a problem. And it will require patience. ISIS controls a restless population, many of whom would really prefer a less dangerous country than ISISland is going to be. We must encourage, overtly and covertly, any dissent among people controlled by ISIS. We must exploit any divisions among the jihadists groups making up ISIS. ISIS is vulnerable to airpower and cannot win a war of attrition. Those wars take time, but they weaken ISIS to the point that the only real solution can happen.

    That solution is for the Syrians and the Iraqis to reject ISIS an stake back their countries. Syria has already tried and is having trouble. Iraqis have to want this and take their country back. If they can do it, then in time the Syrians may be able to do it. Hammering ISIS is giving support to Assad, which hurts that plan in the short term. But at some point if the Syrians can be trained up and given enough air support to defeat ISIS , then defeating Assad will be no problem.

    That's sweet and all, but all that complicated bullshit will never work with these savages......all that is just delaying the unavoidable, we are at war with Islam. Wake up.

    got any ideas of your own besides the ridiculous nuclear fantasy? These people have been fighting each other for millennia! It's complex. We can't kill our way out of this. The last wars have taught you nothing.

    It taught me we didn't finish the job, we barely got started......they will continue to fight us, each other and kill anyone else short of suicide by beheading themselves, they will continue to bleed us financially.....drop a few big ones, problem solved, if not drop a few more.

    Why do you imagine that this will "solve" the problem? It makes no military sense at all--strategically, tactically, or operationally. It makes even less sense morally and politically.

    Muslims=problem

    Atom Bombs on top of Muslims=no more Muslims

    No more Muslims=No more problems from Muslims

    No need to complicate it any further.
