I also agree that trying to run into the strength of Auburns defense when the field is compressed seemed very much like something that Les Miles would have done. If we are going to do that, then why not put in a heavy back set (Davis-Price or even Curry) and maybe with a FB. I have become around to understanding why Edwards-Helaire is our starter. He us a shifty runner, catches well, and blocks well. But if we care going to run up the middle needing 1 or 2 yards or less, I think one of the other backs might be a better option.
I think we went from a well balanced offensive attack that was as successful as one could expect against such a very good Auburn offense. Then I think we went into a conservative run the ball approach. And our performance in the red zone was beyond terrible.
