GOOD ENOUGH FOR #1 Ranking Coaches & AP Poll Great Special Teams (ST) point Izzy, one of my few concerns with LSU having dropped $2750 at Imperial Palace yesterday on a game where: Stubborn Azz pre-game coaching decisions were stuck to (LSU was gonna run period) and: Brady was overruled on Red Zone play-calls that smacked of Meddling ... THE MEDDLERS LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON FOR SURE A 500+ yard performance with only 23 points says Shame on any meddlers for leaving 17+ points on the table ... Anyone with half a brain can correlate 500 yards to 40+ points. Shit Happens ... Your QB completes 76% & runs for a TD and goes 32/42 for 325 yards averaging 4 TD passes a game and gets ONLY ONE TD PASS ... Just to make the stubborn point that LSU can truck SEC #1 Rushing Defense ... That point was clearly made! SO WAS THE T.O.P POINT ... Back to ST play I’ve watched the Bama game twice already. Once at Casino and Home. They have this little pooch kickoff that goes inside the 10 near the sidelines, this to get you stuck inside the 20. LSU needs to let this crap go out of bounds to get a 30-yard line start or fair catch and get a 25-yard line start ... They will try these pooch kicks vs LSU on 9/11 ... Other than that I’m not worried about ST as the Stingley fumble was a fluke ... That knee was down
I don’t buy that. Read this thread and you’ll find a bunch of fans who aren’t happy with a victory over a good opponent. Belichick and Saban both won because they sold their soul to the devil and we’re going to win without having to do that bullshit lol
How much rain did Baton Rouge get over the last few days? You've seen a glimpse of what Bama will scheme, but not entirely. It was basically a 3-1-7 approach. Perhaps you don't recall that line being a favorite fall back after those games only to be proven incorrect. When we had this discussion it turned from "eight or nine in the box" to "after the snap they had eight or nine in the box." The latter is not loading the box.
It wasn't a tremendous amount.. about 2" or so. However, it was raining until that morning and the field was never tarped. You could easily see folks loosing traction and that was also pointed out by the announcers many different occasions.
My take on play calling is to give the remaining defenses something else to prepare for. Our running as of late has been the focus and I think Brady will have plays designed for those formations. If we can run and pass successfully from the same look we have an advantage. The first part of the schedule helped get the needed passing game sound now we are seeing the rest of it. At least that is what i hope is going on.
Last time I checked I won't be suiting up for a game in two weeks. FWIW, Stations has Bama -9½ as their "early look/future" this afternoon.
