The problem is the tax assessors are government morons. Trump bought the place in 1985 for 9 million. 5% compounding interest alone values this at over $95 million with no improvements. It’s 200 acres of prime real estate on one of the most popular coasts in the world. On top of just being valuable land, it also generates a revenue of 25 million a year. The reality is that if they wanted to “stick” it to Trump they would value it correctly and enforce a tax payment yearly. This nonsense is going to COST the government money when it’s all said and done.
