Didn't Oklahoma make the BCS championship game as the #1 team after a loss in the big 12 championship game? Can't get much later in the season than that.
True, but the huge amount of criticism that came up with that...chances are that it wont happen again...
I hear what you are saying, but I haven't found where criticism fits into the BCS formula, if it did we would have a playoff by now, still looking though.
The criticism factor fits in with the Coaches and Harris poll. The Auburn season is what I feel would keep that from happening. In fact, looking at this season, we would have to have USC lose a game to push you into that position and having the 3rd ranked team looking at 2 losses already. Just my thoughts on the matter...one could hope this situation becomes real.
