1. It would be a disaster if we slip up against Arky or SECCG and had to watch Alabama vs. Oregon in the BCSNCG

That would be total BS, 2 teams we BEAT AWAY from Home
    2 people like this.
  2. I'm not going to lie, there are a lot of LSU fans in the DFW area. And Dallas was an easier trip for LSU fans than Duck fans.

But I maintain that it's nothing like LSU playing in NOLA. For a championship.
  3. Yeah, well, they were pretty doggone deluded the first time around, so their opinions carry little weight with me.

They obviously didn't watch the WVU game.
  4. That’s a biased idiotic article that’s just going back to the one thing that NEVER matters, Stats. Here we go again!!!!!!

Sorry bro, but Oregon is on the outside looking in. Even if they beat Stanford, you still have an undefeated OKST and Boise who would go before a rematch. Not to mention, if there were to be a rematch, it would probably be Bama. If OU beats OKST, then the one loss team that goes would be OU, no questions asked, it would be the most decorated matchup and the voters would put it in the bag.

For Oregon to have a shot at the title game, they need way too much to happen: OKST, LSU to lose, OU and Bama to lose one more, and many more things to align just right.

Because remember, if LSU loses, it will more than likely be to a one loss Arkansas or a 2 loss Georgia who would have just won the SEC championship and would get just as a legit vote to go to the title game as a one loss Oregon would.
  5. .

hence the words..."one of the only".

    Agreed sweet cheeks.
  6. Oregon over Stanford. I think we match up better with OSU.
  7. I thought of you when I first read this article... I knew that you especially would love it... Just teasing though, I know the Ducks lost to the better team. So I agree with most of your statement, but I don't think a 2 loss Georgia makes it, nor Alabama who lost at home, and couldn't win their conference championship. Face the fact, that without a real playoff format, the rest of the country will not allow 2 teams from the same conference to be chosen for the National Championship Game.

I expect the Ducks to clobber a banged up Stanford team, who have a mediocre defense and no real home field advantage. So I think you guys are going to play Okie State, which seems fair; or Oklahoma even though they lost at home to a not good Texas Tech team, which doesn't seem fair. As long as Boise doesn't go, I can live with it, and I'm content to settle for a Rose-bowl victory.
  8. I really hate it when I am unsure who to pull for and that time has come. Up until now I could pull against any team or for any team that would help us gain an advantage. It is difficult to reverse course and assume that we will win out and if we don't we won't have a shot at the title anyway. By the way no one is even mentioning the SEC championship game if we get past Arkansas. Even though I think Arky presents a stiffer test on paper it is still a huge game with a ton of pressure. All things considered I do not want to play a prolific offensive team,--a passing team. If we blow a few coverages, suddenly we could find ourselves in a bad situation. I would much rather play a traditional offense. Unfortunately, OSU is averaging almost 400 yds a game passing and has a stud WR in Blackmon. Stanford has the consensus best QB in the land and obviously has a good passing game. I still would rather play Stanford by a hair just because they don't have as much speed.
  9. I'm out here on the left coast right now, and all these jackasses around here are starting to run their mouths about how Andrew Luck would slice and dice us. BRING IT! I think it would be great for Luck to be sent to the NFL after facing us. He'd get an early sense of what he is about to get into. Don't get me wrong, I think the potential is there for him to be a very strong NFL QB, but for people to think this dude is god and will destroy our D or 'Bama's D is just ridiculous.

So, I concur with the Stanford/Okie St. sentiment.

Fark Oregon. They are the last ones who deserve a rematch with us. We destroyed them in game 1. No one wants to see that again. They are small. As mentioned above, the slaughter would be much worse around this time. These Oregon people started demanding a rematch on the 2nd day after their loss. To their credit, most of them realize that we and the top SEC are better than them and would beat them. But some of them...well, fans will be fans. Alabama easily deserves a shot before Oregon. Easily. In fact, I hope somehow Bama gets paired up against Orygone and destroys their asses, part trois! :hihi:
  10. Being a Bay Area dude for the last 32 years, I really wanna see us maul the upper crusters from Stanfurd in the BCSNCG.

The irony is, when they were in the NC discussion a few years back, many local Tree fans wanted the Rose Bowl and the tradition over the BCSNCG.

Delusional, I'm tellin' ya. Tradition over the crystal.
That's what a high IQ and a lotta dough'll get ya.

REALLY wanna crush those hoity toity folks, our D will put Luck ON THE GROUND.

Make wearin' Tiger gear painful to the locals, like when we exacted revenge for the '88 CWS loss in the 2000 CWS championship game.
