Last year I got out on Nov. 6 for LSU/Bama, afternoon kickoff; you recall that, after halftime, the sun was getting long in the sky & the announcer spooked everyone with the "It is now Saturday Night in Death Valley" and the rest of that game was HISTORY as we know. For me? Magical and memorable. The partying & restauranting before & after the game was off the charts!!!!! BUT, given this thread, did I attend one of the LAST meaningful SEC (semi-night) games in DV? WTF?
CBS managed to kill off a tradition that stood at LSU since 1935. And that IS something our administration should take note of and defend. But it's GOT to start with US; the fans! Flood the emails of LSU administrators, Les Miles and our AD. Make your voices heard! It may not matter this season as schedules seem to have already been made, but it can only plant the seed for future seasons.
:hihi: I'm not saying we have to refuse coverage. But if enough people voice their opinion on the matter, a compromise might be reached for future games is all.
I knew someone would find the thread title ambiguous, even though it should technically be obvious what I meant
For some reason, I don't think sending a letter to CBS and the SEC saying "Please let LSU play at 7pm because it is an advantage to our team" ...will be very affective. Look, I have never been to a game (yet), and I know the craziness and the tradition of playing in Death Valley at night is legendary. But to say the team suffers by playing at 2:30 because our fans aren't "into" it, seems a little lame. CBS wants LSU because they are an exciting, winning program. Would you prefer the team lost to Kentucky?
It's a sacrifice you make for being one of the top teams in the country.....our e-mails, calls, complaints, or whatever will not matter, that big fat deal that the SEC signed with cbs is waht matters they are legally obligated by contract now, and are compensated for it, they signed the deal and agreed to it, we as fans just have to get used to it, the only other thing you can do is stop going to the games......and for every 1 that does that 3 more are waiting to take his ticket.
