    “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump,” wrote Goldstone.

    In one of the emails, referring to the information on Clinton, Trump Jr. told Goldstone: “If it's what you say I love it.”

    This does not look good for Jr. and his BIL if it is true that campaign finance law states that it is illegal to solicit these types of things from foreign govts.

    Pence for Prez?

    even though noting was gained, it shows the want to have it. (As Les would say)

    Donald Trump Jr. may have crossed the legal line on collusion
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...gal-line-on-collusion/?utm_term=.3d5770ef8c7a

    The New York Times reported — and Donald Trump Jr. appeared to confirm — that he agreed to a meeting with a Russian lawyer who had damaging information on Hillary Clinton after getting an email that the Russian government was trying to help his father win the election.

    “It's as close as you can get to a smoking gun” of whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, said Jeffrey Jacobovitz, a white-collar lawyer who represented officials in the Clinton White House and now is with Arnall Golden Gregory. And it could mean Trump Jr. crossed the legal line on collusion with Russia.

    First, a reframing of the way we think of collusion. Collusion actually is a political term; there's no line in the criminal code that says you go to jail for colluding with a foreign adversary. :cool: (got that, @LSUpride123)

    But you can go to jail for conspiring with a foreign adversary to influence or undermine an election, and Jacobovitz thinks what Trump Jr. did, as documented by emails he himself shared on Twitter, could rise to that level.

    Trump Jr apparently was mislead into thinking the Russian lawyer had dirt on Hillary. It's against the law to conspire to influence U.S. elections with a foreign entity, doesn't matter that no information was shared, going to that meeting was against the law.. just like going to meet a minor for sex is against the law, doesn't matter if there was no sex involved, just showing up will get you arrested.

    And don't forget, Trump Jr. and Trump's campaign manager Paul Manefort and Trump's son in law Jarod Kushner were all there,.. all three have previously denied/lied about ever having attended such a meeting.

    Trump's son, son in law and campaign manager were in on it, but you think Donald Trump didn't know anything about it?

    And why as patriotic Americans didn't they inform the U.S. election commission about this underhandedness?.. because they're all unscrupulous crooks that's why.

    not really relevant to the crime, but;

    The documents “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father,” read the email, written by a trusted intermediary, who added, “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”

    turns out, there were no such documents

    I am happy as all fuck that Hillary is not our President. Maybe this was the only way it could have happened. It takes shady to beat shady.

    Trump's and Ivanka will be the only ones left sitting in an empty White House before the Summer is done.
