I think trying to get Gwynn out of the southern california area is a challenge. but he's a great coach.
I'm sure it wasn't (as is usually the case between rival state schools, which, in UL-L's case, were tired of being 2nd fiddle to us, but to the average on-looker, nothing was as heated as that last game). I'm sure dirty-looks, brush-back pitches and more than a few choice words were thrown around during more games vs ULL, perhaps even more so than a game vs a conference opponent, but those sort of things were to be expected at the time (I'm sure Tulane vs LSU games will become more and more "verbal" between the two teams for a while).
david 'stump' steinle, local radio rainman, just said Smoke did in fact interview for the Oklahomo job.
actually smoke is rather thin-skinned as shown with his comments and jabs towards the fans. I do have a problem with that because he knew what he was getting into. he's said so many times. I don't think its the pressure as much as he hates stupid fans even though they are the customer and of course, always right. this is really an idiotic statement. you really shouldn't post nonsense.
supposedly when tanner turned them down, smoke was contacted and interviewed. he turned it down as well.
what are you talking about? your initial comment implies they recruit players who aren't enthusiastic and should go another route. if you really believe that, it shows you have no idea what you're talking about.
is it really necessarily to lie? I know for a fact Smoke knows baseball though I've stated in the same breath he's likely better off as an assistant. Same with Brady yet people like you make up more lies to try and make a bogus point. the fact you think LSU teams hustled more under skip shows you either aren't an LSU baseball fan and/or never attend. Im sure you watched on tv the postseason games when Skip was here winning it all. Yes, the teams were more excited than going 0-2 under smoke. its not rocket science.
