And what "other" sport would that be??? Football?? Where we are currently a national top 10 team? Softball? Where we're in the Super Regionals? Basketball??? Where we have TWO Final Four teams?? ...perhaps track?? Where we're already a conference and national power??? What "cojones" does Skip need to show??? Fire the golf coach?!
I didn't say any coaches currently need to be fired. I said I don't believe he would fire his baseball coach before showing the cojones to firing a coach of another program.
That is such a loser mentality that I can't believe he actually said that. Comparing bad behavior to bad behavior to justify it never works. Can you imagine a coach like Nick Saban saying something like that? If Bertman's pride is causing a conflict of interest that is preventing him from making changes in our baseball program then he should step down. Skip is not bigger than our athletic program, it's the other way around.
I think the article in todays BR MA says it all...................the program is doing a Crimson Tide, "around the bowl, and down the hole". Barring a total domination of a regional, assuming they get to one, I think Laval will resign.
That's a rough article if they are comparing Bertman's tenure to that of Isiah Thomas. That dude is possibly the worst GM in modern sports history.
I read it as they are comparing Smoke's performance coaching the LSU baseball team to Isiah's coaching the Indionapolis Pacers where he finished with a .500 record over 3 seasons but was fired for poor performance when it mattered aka the postseason.
