    Not buying

As they say on "Around On Horn," I'm not buying. He knew before today. But as I said, it would serve no purpose to hold a grudge. What's done is done. "Merry Christmas," huh?

As I've been saying, no use crying in our beer --- LSU fans need to rally around Skip Bertman and support his efforts to hire the best possible coach to build upon what Saban has wrought. I think he will first investigate the Butch Davis situation -- did he really have a breakdown, anxiety attack, or whatever you want to call it? If so, maybe he knows best and he really does need some time off. Unfortunate for LSU, but, the man has to think of his health first and foremost. I then think Skip will quickly assess any interest in the NFL coaching ranks. I would think he would look at only HCs, but, might look at coordinators like Nolan and Crennel. Then, if he hasn't found his coach by then, he'll look at the college coaching ranks and I think his efforts will wind up with Mike Riley and Rich Rodriguez as the top two AVAILABLE candidates (I don't consider Tedford, Spurrier, or Petrino as available.)

If there are any hints that Skip is going to "go cheap," LSU fans need to make their voices heard and let them know we're not going to accept a Curley Hallman redux.

So, with all that said, I would love to hear some educated guesses and speculation on who the next coach might be.

In all honesty, I turned 99% of the attention and energy I've been giving to Nick Saban saga to thinking about the next head coach.

I hope he does well in Miami because it seems weird not to have the Dolphins competitive, but otherwise I could care less anymore about what Saban does or does not do.

Who's gonna be the next coach?

OK. So Saban held off the announcement until Christmas Day just to stick it to the fans. Based upon what I'm reading tonight, you all deserve it.

That's a "Merry Christmas" attitude. Saban uses Christmas day as his platform to make an announcement. LSU fans don't like it, and you say we deserve it. Poor little Nicky.

Honestly, he did not appear "gut wrenched" at the PC. I was surprised that he mentioned the booing but really didn't express any appreciation towards LSU fans. Why mention the booing?

Saban didn't announce it on Christmas to stick it to LSU fans. He did because it served his purpose. He wasn't cocerned about the fans. He's a Dolphin not a Tiger. Why should he worry about Tiger fans. He played to the crowd at his weekly radio show because it served his purpose. He convinced everyone, almost, that he was in Tiger Heaven. All the time he was scanning the NFL wanted ads.

If you want to see a classless exit, refer to Alabama a couple of years ago. At least Saban told his players in person and admitted to the Dolphin's interest...

I knew that Nick was leaving while watching the news showing the Tigers loading the bus. Terrie was there with a pathetic, sad look on her face. She was looking at the players loading the bus, and it was like a mother bird watching her little ones fly away. It was sad, and I knew then they were gone.

I am a dolphin have been for 37 years. This is the biggest thing that has happened to Miami since Shula. I feel really bad for you guys, and hope you find a really good coach to replace him.. Merry x-mas to all and a happy new year.
