I did notice after that first INT that the reciever immediately looked over at Glennon and kinda threw out his arm as in "come on dude, what in the hell are you doing?". Not what you want to see if you're a QB whose decision making has been subject for debate. Nothing like kicking someone when their down.

I guess you could blame the coaches for not calling a few plays that would settle Glennon's nerves a bit.

While we should win, it won't be as easy as some seem to think.

Don't bet the farm on it. There are Chicken Little fans everywhere including here. The VT team is not likely to lose swagger or confidence. Tiger Stadium is going to pump them up.

What happened yesterday has much to do with what happens next Sat. in BR, but a lot can change in a week also. Emotions will be different, they will be better in BR not having to go through a memorial service. Things will be back to normal for them. They realize the O was lackluster, they will find the weak spots and work hard on them this week. A lot can change by next Sat. They will probably drop a couple notches in the polls, and be mad and ready to prove to folks they belong in the top 10. I don't expect to play the same team that stepped out on the field yesterday. They will be stoked to play the #2 team in the country.

We better be ready also. I'm not changing my prediction, LSU by score 21-14.

If I'm Les, I'm telling the guys we can clean the slate and play for a championship, but to control our destiny we have to win them all. Take them one at a time, and we have to take care of VT at home in a week. Stay focused, work hard, and take care of bidnes with VT.

Edited: The "mature" posters on here seem the most cautious... Natural I suppose.

And don't forget pride. If this team has any, and I think they do, they are going to be breathing fire next week.

I am usually very conservative when it comes to predicting the next week's game like many of the posters above. But this time... sorry, VT looked really bad. Confused bad. Shaken bad. I don't remember any team turning it around that much in one week. I honestly think we will crush them. I predict a blow out. Worst case would be 31-7 with their defense scoring the only points for them. LSU wants to make a statement. This could get ugly.

You did remember that they won, despite this? Champions rise above.

Well, I've seen it happen. Opening game fiasco's are an old part of football. Lot's of teams start out cold or even stumble in the opener, yet put it together by the next week.

Some book is going to take a lot of money from you, my friend.

You know, a runaway is a possibility, but a tight defensive struggle is far more likely, considering that VT has been the number #1 defense in the nation for the last two years and returns most of their defensive starters. They may not have to score a hell of a lot of points to win. Plus LSU has been the #3 defense for the last three years and returns most of its starters, too. LSU may not have to score many points to win, either.

Both offenses are probably going to be conservative, if they can, and try to keep the turnovers down versus these monster defenses. That's what I liked about the State game. We played a basic I-formation running game mostly with few twists and wrinkles and still posted 45 points. That and the success of our special teams last week makes me confident that LSU can beat VT . . . but I damn sure ain't predicting a blowout.

So, there was all of this talk about LSU looking past MSU, but no one thinks that VT was looking past ECU? Come on, now. I wouldn't take too much from VT's struggles. There are a million things that could have contributed to that, including them looking ahead to us. VT is a very solid program, and don't think for one second that Beamer doesn't know how to correct the very same weaknesses that you and I observed.

I certainly think that we are the better team. I thought that before yesterday. But don't think that there is even a remote possibility that we're going to see the same VT team that ECU saw.

The deciding factor after all is said and done will be the atmosphere. Tiger Stadium..at night..nuf said.
