I've studied a lot of books about the culture of poverty, and one of the key components is that children who grow up in that culture have an extremely hard time breaking the chain. It's almost as if they are constantly pulled back in and pulled down. I'm not sure if TM lived all of his life in poverty, but his parents surely fit that mold. It is hard to overcome one's birth. All that being said, I first thought TM, Mo, and Freak posed for the pictures for the poster. I now see they are pictures the club took from the Internet. Mo was no longer with the team in March. TM and Freak were. I hope this just dies--though I cannot see what the big deal is, regardless.
The higher ups at LSU don't see anything coming out of this. TM is been doing great in school and in workouts and on pace to return if that option is available. As of now it looks like that option will be avaialbe if everything stays on the same path as it is today.
Don't know what we would do without you, bhelm! This is good news, and SI should be ashamed for publishing this type of hack journalism. Controversy sells magazines, I suppose.
Is he working out with the team? As in at the football facilities under the coaches supervision? Just curious......
If you go to you tube, look up era nation, and go to a video that claims to be posted from the 3/14/12 party at that club, you will see Anthiny Johnson holding court, as well as appearance by Ware and Mattheiu. May be tough to prove, but how could AJ be at that party, and not know his face and name was on the poster as a "sponsor" to the party? I hope this all goes away and I think the SI article is nothing more than BS to try to indict LSU and its players. But, that video could not be helpful for AJ's case that he did not know.
Maybe it's a problem, but is it no longer acceptable for college athletes to go to a party? Parties were half of what college was all about.
