I agree. Going to a party is not a problem and going to a club where there are lots of people nd people who know you are an LSU player is not an issue. The issue that is being brought up is did AJ know that his name was being used to promote such a party? I hope there is not an issue with him knowing about his name being used. Sounds like a he said she said scenario and I hope AJ's word is good enough to put this to rest. I think the entire SI article was crap.
You can go. Truth is you can do what you want to do. But your playing the odds. These athletes are well aware that they are told to periodically pee in a specimen cup. So someone is interested in accountability, even if some players are not. Not sure about coach Saban's daughter.
Matt Leinart ran into a similar issue when he willingly appeared on an ESPN promo piece. When USC found out (after the piece was aired on ESPN), they suspended him. But the NCAA resinstated him pretty quickly. If the NCAA would reinstate Leinart after he knowingly filmed the promo, I would sure as hell hope that Freak would at worst get the same lenient treatment. Leinart knew he was being filmed for the promo piece. Freak says he didn't know about the poster. Which should be the end of the story. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls05/news/story?id=2267624
So Dre' Kirkpatrick just decided he was gonna start smoking weed a few weeks before the draft? Yeah right.
The players get paid , they get great food , college sports do open doors . What i think is a bit on the stupid side . If you or i are out eating a meal and would like to pay for the players meal . They say that is wrong . I am sure in BR after a game there will be a few dozen cupped hands waiting to be shaked . Am I wrong ??
Tyronne Mathieu has a job and works for UPS or something down in New Orleans. Of course he'll never play for LSU. His nephew, Tyrann, on the other hand may or may not, however.
You can't even get his name right and we're supposed to believe you're some all-knowing LSU insider? Whatever.. You have a 50-50 shot at being right, just like the rest of us. Well played...
If the first sentence of this statement from Tiger Rag is true then this story is getting so much more interesting: Xavier Williams, a promoter with the club, also added that SI attempted to bribe him with $2,500 to lie about players’ involvement with and benefits from the party. SI denied the charges in a statement. http://www.tigerrag.com/?p=226872
