    thanks for the link, dude.

excellent news that they cancelled and the family was spared that kind of hate.

and it is good to see how the community rallied around the family to protect them, and how the patriot guard riders were out in force. i have a friend that rides and is joining the group.

so good people who just wanted to do the right thing of protecting the family prevailed. there is decency in the world.

Try to understand, Gilligan. We don't care what their motives are, it ain't about what they believe and it damn sure aint about what you believe.

It's about the propriety of protesting a funeral for political theatre.

    You've already agreed with this. Just . . . let it . . . go.

i care what their motivations are and i am curious about it. it appeasr to me that thge bible supports their views. and so i wonder what folks that believe in the bible think about that.

supafan appears to believe that the old testament isnt meant to be taken seriously. that seems like a decent answer, but it makes me wonder if there is like maybe a percentage of the old testament that we can believe in, or if it is all crap.

one thing we should all be able to agree on is that the signs these folks hold up seems to be based on the bible.

yes, i agreed with it, why are you continuing to discuss it?

Don't you think this is the wrong thread for it? We've addressed this in a dozen other threads. Everyone is upset about these funeral protest kooks and you seem to want to turn that into a suggestion of how biased and ignorant we must all be because of the existence of religion, . . . not being smart like you.

    You figure it out . . .

i dunno, i figure a roundtable thread would be a nice place for us to agree about the obvious.

dont sell yourself short, amigo, you are smart too! you dont believe in the bible either. you are well aware that god doesnt hate fags like the bible says he does.

I agree. I open this thread in hopes of reading about a truck slamming into the protesters and I have to wade through martin's endless diatribes about how stupid belevers are. For an atheist, he sure does a lot of preaching.

    sooner or later....

and sooner or later the hate master fred phelps is gonna croak. i'll bet that funeral will set a record for how many protesters show up.

yet when given full opportunity to discuss his religious views in a thread about religion so he wouldnt hijack other threads, he "declined". imagine that.:rolleye33:

what are you saying? why is "declined" in quotes?

do you think i am unable to start threads on my own? if i wanted to i would. so just let me know if i cross the line on hijacking instead of posting new threads that appear as if i posted them when i didnt.

lasalle started this thread, he can tell us the topic, he can tell me what is considered hijacking of his thread. and he is engaging me on this topic, wondering how literally people take their holy book.

if you want to make a thread that points out the most obvious fact imaginable, that the actions of these pricks is reprehensible, i guess that is cool, but pretty damn boring. 100% of people agree with that and there is nothing to discuss. seems like a roundtable topic.

really i just think you guys are afraid to confront these questions. except supafan, he is admirably and unabashedly crazy and honest.
