    IMO they should vote.

The ones that abuse it shouldn't but that would be difficult to police.

With that said if your on public assistance your ass better be able to pass a drug test!

Also! I'm sick of standing in line at Wal-Mart watching people use food stamps and then once i walk outside i see them jumping in a 70K escalade with 24 inch rims and 10K sound sytem.....you get the picture!

If they're in Orleans parish, they can always vote.

Hell, their votes are counted even if they don't vote or are dead. Morial, Landrieu or Nagin only.

Waste of money. 90% of the people on public assistance are small children and the elderly. Definitely low-danger demographics.

Urban myth. Food stamps are debit cards now anyway, you got no idea at all if someone is using food stamps.

Whether you like them or not is besides the point.

And yes people vote for a candidate that promotes the things they favor. I've never seen the rich vote to not pay taxes? In fact I see the rich tired of paying their money out and taxes going up with the govt. giving out more benefits. At what point does someone say hold up we are playing to the cycle of lazyness (not all people).

What ever happened to personal responsibility.

The govt. is not your Daddy.

Nobody really defined public assistance in this thread yet so your 90% could mean a whole lot of nothing to me.

Where would the line be drawn indeed. I just thought this place needed a bit of a pick me up since I haven't seen a decent thread in weeks..
