We would be better off trying to convenience everyone else in the SEC to move the central office out of gumpville. The amount of bias that is given to the teams in al is a little nauseating. Not saying moving the central office would change anything but it couldn't hurt.
So a lot of people are saying no and I can't understand why you don't at least have the conversation. @LSUsupaFan pretty much nailed it IMO. You don't have to leave, you don't have to intend to leave, but please tell me how it hurts to have that conversation. And do you honestly think that if LSU decided to leave the Big 12 would be a dying conference? I don't think so.
Again it's not about leaving it's about a conversation to show that we aren't just going sit around and be Birmingham's Bitch and roll over everytime the Conference wants to do right by the other schools.
Agreed. What if the Big 12 came back with the same revenue stream, the option to have every game at home a night game, you knew UT and OU were staying, why wouldn't you at least have the conversation. It's like when Agents start putting their clients names out every time a coaching gig comes up. You think if LSU calls Jimmy Sexton inquiring about the job at LSU he isn't going to try and leverage that into a better deal for Saban at Alabama? No one is saying bolt but there is no harm in talking.
If another company called you offering you a job would you hang up and not speak to them or would you hear what they have to offer?
I am not convinced that Alleva and the boys can properly navigate discussions without a pretty fucked up outcome with the media and the fans. Skip could whittle the whole deal in talks that could shine any turd, but skip ain't doing the talking nor the thinking. But anything to make b-ham shit itself is perfectly acceptable so as long as we dont look like a drunk stripper on a pole
GregLSU nailed it, plus I like the tradition of the SEC. Don't want to be a puppet to Texas...no thanks.
Conversation to see the value I would be fine with but leaving the SEC wouldn't be the move I would hope for at all and don't see this a real option. Plus, say it was a real option...the people we got leading us now are not fit for the job of doing any of these things. They would really mess everything up even worse.
