Miles shouldn't be fired. You win some you lose some... it's just how it goes. But no matter win or lose LSU makes both look very ugly. After several seasons of dismal offensive play, it's clear the writing is on the wall, something needs fixing. Being near last in the NCAA year in and year out Offensively is no excuse for the showing we see every week. We can not continie to expect the defense to win games. And with the so called level of talent we're supposedly recruiting every year, we should be blowing out the teams we're supposed to, and playing more consistent better football. But we're not... except on defense and even their going to have an off night here and there... but the O does it every week. We play down to competition, we commit stupid penalties all the time (most coming after big gains, in red zone, or defensively giving away too much yardage), we're drained in the 4th where we used to be just getting started, and our players are fighting on the field, no one has seemed to step up as THE leader, and we're suffering a lot of injuires... where has the discipline gone? Seems to me the kids are running the show... While Miles shouldn't be fired, it's clear others are not cut out for the jobs they have. Changes should be made, but if they're not and we see the same shit again in '13 then it's clear where the blame lies...
He's ruining it by winning 80% of his games and making LSU into a perennial top-10 team with frequent shots at the national championship. Which is EXACTLY what every school in the country is looking for in a head coach. Wise up.
The question has been asked time and time again of those who bitch about the last 5 years about how bad things are and never answered. WHEN WAS THERE EVER A BETTER TIME AT LSU?? I'll provide an answer NEVER.. the closet... 1935,6 where we won the SEC and finished 2nd nationally. !948,9 with YA Tittle we won the SEC after YA graduated. 1958-62 with Paul Dietzel and Cholly Mac we won the Naty and SEC championships. After that until Saban we alternated between mediocrity and decency but were a distant second or third to Alabama, Tenn. Even with Saban we had only 1 great and 1 very good season. As I have said before it isn't that you aren't satisfied with some of what is happening and criticize. Criticize away just have some perspective of how we are doing in relation to LSU's history. Don't assume we are automatic national leaders we aren't Alabama, USC, Ohio State or ND as much as it sickens me to say it.. We are on a tier just below them. My thought is realize what a special time this is for LSU and that this is the longest run we have had at the front of the national stage.
So let me get this straight. We watch a team that can't get a first down, makes horrible predictable plays on offense, forces a defense to carry them all season long. But we aren't allowed to want better just because it was worse. Much like politicians you guys can be a joke. The idiots on one side calling for Les's head, the other idiots with their heads stuck in the sand" hey it's better than 3-8". I think any reasonable person might agree that while Les is not a great X/O's coach he is a hell of a motivator who loves LSU. He is loyal to a fault. I think that's why he kids love him, but our offense is in less than capable hands. The team appears to have a discipline issue at times. We do need to make some changes to get better.
I say next year will be great because of the experience out freshmen and sophmores received this year. LSU played 16 freshman. 2nd in the nation. We had guys go down and also suspended and we had guys step up and do a great job. IMHO I think LSU games are the best to watch because of some of the crazy plays called.
Who is stopping you from wanting better? No one. People are going to disagree with you. Live with it.
Let me get this correct, because of something that happened 10 years ago it is your assumption that it will now happen in 2013??? As for betting, I NEVER bet on LSU, however, when I do "gamble" I am at the point in my life where I can "afford" to lose.................how about you????
The idea that we are still discussing whether or not Miles should keep his job is comical. The man just signed a 5 year extention. Now if we want to discuss should his offensive and I mean offensive coordinators keep their jobs that's another story. We know CLM is loyal to a fault. It is what it is. He will stick with the O coordinator until he leaves on his own unfortunately.
Once again, based on the FACT LSU will lose half their defense OR MORE to graduation/draft, and an offense that put up 200 yards on a "defense" that REGULARLY surrendered over 400 yards you expect unbounded success with a head coach that REFUSES to admit there is a problem let alone deal with it???? The coach back then corrected problems on the spot, that was a different "guy".
