Sounds like Shep will have an opportunity to drop even more passes this season...

I got confused when I thought Ryan Perrilloux was playing special teams.

Good thing this thread didn't get derailed or anything...

Anyone want to discuss the article?

How many think we will see that much of a philosophy change in our offense?

Of course the offensive line's ability to open up holes in the running game and hand the ball off is our strength but, even if all we did was go back to throwing the ball 20-25 times a game, this would be enough to give our offense the balance it needs to win those tough games.

I think the offense will look more like it did in ’07 with Flynn. Les is not afraid to air it out when he has confidence in the QB and the WR.

exactly, with a much better prospect at QB now, lets hope we have the WR squad to work with #8. Our passing game was seriously hampered last season again. I am thinking this could be an upward trend there and a well balanced O Team in 2012.

While I think Miles will always be a "run first" type guy, I do not think he is a run only coach. I truly believe that he has been very, very frustrated with our lack of passing game the last 4 seasons. I think he really wants to throw the ball. Even the worst of coaches know the difference a truly balanced offense will make in your team. I really believe that our QB situation the last 4 seasons has really, really restricted our Offensive production, particularly from the passing game standpoint. IF given a QB that is highly capable of throwing the ball down field, like I believe Mett is, I think Miles will trust the pass and not just these little dinks here and there. I really look for LSU to come out and spread th field with the WR's this season and really run routes in the 15-30 yd range a lot. Mett can deliver the ball. I do not think we will be a pass happy team, but we will be a much more effective passing team, which will make our running game shine even that much more. NO ONE has respected the pass at LSU the last 4 seasons and I find it remarkable that we have had such success running the football given that fact.
