he won't end up at Tulane, he'll end up at Alabama (who has already offered him), Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, or where ever he wants. I hope LSU gets him, but after all the vitriol directed at his older brother (JJ had to take down both his tweeter and facebook), I'm not getting my hopes up[/QUOTE]

There is not a chance in hell his brother is coming here after the way his brother was treated by LSU fans. And understandably so.
No I would write that one off.....

This is a Booty situation X10.
For those who dont remember there was a lot of bad blood between the Booty family and LSU because of the way "their sons" were treated by LSU fans.

I assure you that was candy compared to what JJ went through.
No LSU is not well liked in the Jefferson house.
    I would fully understand it.

Shep was never part of the offense. He would be better served going to a smaller college and playing one year. I don't see him getting drafted.

I feel bad for the brother, but that's probably for the best. Go to another school, get around people who don't know the whole drama with Jordan, work your tail off and succeed.

Look, I ended up at LSU in part because I didn't want to go through "little brother syndrome" at Auburn. College is a time to help define yourself, not live in someone's shadow.

I wish him well and hope he goes to ND. I think going to Bama would be too much of a poke in Jordan's eye, and while the boards do that routinely, Jordan doesn't deserve it from family.

A big mistake on his part. He needs another year of seasoning.

This is a rash decision at best.

Russell is an excellent talent, but hasn't done enough at this level to even be considered a prospect at the WR position.

Late round reach, or undrafted for sure. He'll struggle to make a team because he still isn't comfortable catching the ball in a crowd, or making bodily adjustments to catch off target passes. He made a few plays this year, but for every few plays he's made, on footage you see a pass dropped, or ball misjudged by Shepard.

Hopefully he is just having trouble dealing with the shock. I love the kid. I hate twitter.
The best thing for him and to do to take care of his family is for him to get his degree, and stabilize his future beyond football, and get another year of experience a the position on a championship caliber team.
Russell is an untapped, great talent, who is totally underutilized.
But the thought of a leaving a year early, when you have a pure pocket passer coming to the huddle seems strange. Especially when you have so much left to prove, and the grandest opportunity to prove it.

But if its is official, that proves further that you can never underestimate the free will of a human being. Thanks Russell, appreciated the big plays, and I wish you the best.
