Eh. Though this and others (I'm sure there's more) does suck, this season is a wash. No one is playing for a natty or one will be recognized as a national champion. Best to play for is Atlanta if even that materializes. So no real harm is done and the positive note here is that kids who are gonna be asked to step up, will and they will get valuable snaps leading into next year when the Natty means something again. This year is simply going through the motions and even those are hard to tell. Pretty easy to get over these defections and the bright side, scholarships will open up and the pickins will grow. See the opportunities, I guess.
I’ll enjoy whatever we put out on the field. Really looking forward to the young kids contributing. But this year is 100% a stepping stone at this point.
I see Chases point but Shelvin needed more film. This is reminding me of the days under Les that juniors would declare and not get drafted.
He kind of just disappeared didn't he. And I'm not saying Shelvin won't be good. I think he can be a really good big guy in the middle. I just think by not playing this year, he is losing a chance to be a big pick. He will come cheaper to a team drafting him next year.
