Since moving to California i do most of my fishing in the grocery store. Less expensive and i catch a big one every time.
I fished there last year. The wind was too bad for big trout and the reds were turned off by a cold front but we caught small trout til our hands hurt. We ended up with 5 reds a flounder and close to a 100 trout. I even caught a double, trout and a seagull :insane: I mainly bass fish and this time of year they will be tearing it up shallow, but on those cold front days, I look for a northern protected cove were the water is 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the lake. Damn I wish I was home to go catch a few! :bncry:
Nice thread I actually ordered 900 big head minnows that I will pick up from the Zachary Feed Store on the way home from work today. I am going to put them in my acre pond. Just got my trolling motor running right and my battery charged so I can begin acclimating them when I get home. Will take pics and post them here.
Dunno, he may be out fishing. was figuring he and Nootch would share a couple of secrets- I know they're both good fishermen.
Moved into a subdivision with a lake last fall. My house is on the lake. I literally have fish in my backyard. The bass are in the shallows for the spawn. Its been fun to get off of work and be fishing within five minutes of getting home. My son and I take a canoe out, its good quality time together. He's caught more fish than me since we moved but I have the biggest fish (3# bass). As far as bass baits, here are my top three: (1) Mann's 9" Jelly worm, black with a firetail; (2) chartreuse spinner bait; and (3) Rattletrap crankbait, blue and silver.
