He would still be here if we were willing to pay like the Gumps are. They are willing to step on anyone anything or pay whatever to get the coach that will win. We don't go the extra mile like they do.
Saban leaving LSU had much more to do with his ambition to be a NFL coach than money. Lest too many forget that was the common thread while he was here....he was bidding his time till the right job came open. Had he chosen Brees over Culpepper he may still be in Miami (doubtful as his overbearing demands would do him in anyway). We might have been able to throw enough money at him but doubtful.
he had a choice, he made the wrong one concerning brees....or the right one ultimately. looks like it worked out for him
He still had a choice obviously as the Saints took Drew. Your boy was too cautious and paid the price.
He had a choice to stay in college instead of high tailing it in the dark of night and ruining my Christmas. Suck a dick nick.
@TerryP Brees said in his book that Miami gave him an MRI and the Saints didn't. That both teams were discussing roughly the same amount of money, but his agent said Miami would use the MRI results as an excuse to lower their offer, which they did. Brees said he called Saban himself, and Saban said,"The doctors are professionals, I have to listen to them." Brees said he understood, but wanted to know what Saban personally wanted to do. He said Saban's answer was almost a word for word repeat of what he said the first time, comparing it to reading a script. He told Saban he was choosing New Orleans, and Saban hung up on him. Although he doesn't say it, the impression Brees gives is that Saban didn't have confidence that he could recover to begin with.
Well then Brees is a liar, Terry knows everything there is no way he could ever be wrong, especially when he is.
