1. yeah but we dont pay like that. we dont have the backing bama does. only texas and a couple other schools have fu money.
  2. We got the $$. We just be too cheap
  3. no we dont. well maybe with the sec network now but thats not really ours. thats for the academicians in their view.
  4. Not to mention....Saban's contract required that LSU make him the highest paid coach in the country if he won the NC. He did, and they did, but the going rate at the time, as I recall, was in the $3-4 million range. $10 million was unheard of ten years ago. Would they pay him $10 million today in the same circumstances? I think they would.
  5. 10 would be the number i think and it would be a tough decision. as i said when a million was the highest and people complained, its a drop in the bucket. A big ole bucket now.
  6. Wanting and ultimately failing in the NFL because he chose Daunte Culpepper over Drew Brees are exactly the issues as to why Saban's no longer at LSU.

    Not money,

Shaq doesn't even know a lot of the current LSU athletes. On Inside The NBA recently, Charles Barkley brought up an LSU player during their usual, candid SEC Auburn/LSU rivalry and Shaq didn't know who Charles was talking about..

"He plays for LSU, fool." was a direct Barkley quote in response to Shaq's bewilderment.

Shaq represents LSU very, very well, but Shaq sometimes doesn't know what he's talking about as most of us do not, and this is one of those times.
LSUTiga, ParadiseiNC and mctiger like this.
  7. I don't think it was about money cause, at the time, Saban was the 3rd highest paid college coach in the nation behind Spurrier and Bbby Bowden.
    $1.2 million per year.

I think it was more to do with the normal ego coaches have of wanting to take it to the next level. Maybe he just wanted to venture out and see of the pussy in Florida tasted like Candy.
  8. Shaq doesn't know shit! Great person, great player and great LSU alum, but he really has no idea.

  9. It does by the way.
