So you don't believe in your own personal responsibility and moral obligations to man so you have to have your govt. do it for you so you don't forget?

I'm failing still to see the argument here...

It's always that way between Dems and Republicans.

A perfect example is the response to Katrina and Rita.

Democrats (also known as wards of the State) waited for the Gov't to get them out and got hammered in the process. Then they waited for the government to rebuild their lives and they are still waiting.

Republicans (also known as hard working independent individuals) evacuated the area, the returned and rebuilt their lives and businesses on their own.

Personally, I don't want to depend on the Government for my healthcare or anything else. I've paid into Social Security for over 40 years but I'd be a fool to depend on that for my retirement. Help the needy all you want to but leave me out of it.

Republicans are less than 30% of the hard working independent individuals.

I do. You say Republican when you really mean hard-working citizens and you say Democrat when you really mean lazy good-for-nothing citizens.

You politicize an issue, blithely ignoring that a lot of hard-working democrats and independents did exactly what the hard-working republicans did.

straight out of the blowhard talk radio hate speech. I'm not a republican or a democrat, but you can bet your angry ass that I worked for everything I've got.

BTW, didn't the goverment bail out that republican controlled company you get a check from. should they have let it go down the tube and put your ass with all the unemployed democrats?

I dispute your 30% figure, but my post was intended to convey the difference between Republican and Democrat idealogies.

And I don't paint all Katrina victims as "lazy" and "good for nothing". A lot of good people suffered because they became dependent on the government.

You can argue all you want to but my basic premise is right on point.
