I like the series because it lengthens the season, as we are about to hit a serious dead period, interest-wise for me. However, LSU benefitted big-time in '93 from the winner-takes-all format, as we were coming out of the losers' bracket to face undefeated Wichita State. Of course, we knocked the socks off of them in the championship game, so not much was ever made of it. And our ninth inning comeback against Long Beach State the night before was about as good as it gets in college baseball.
Series - - Other wise they can't call it the College World SERIES. In fact, why not 3 out of 5? :geaux:
Since we've won it both ways it doesn't really matter to me. If we ever win the first game then lose the next two...I reserve the right to bitch, moan, and complain about a three-game series. :hihi: Until then...it's all good! :geauxtige
